East Central Regional Library is a library system based in Minnesota. They brought us in to completely revamp and modernize their brand. They are more than a provider of books; they serve their community by creating a welcoming space for gathering, hosting fun events and workshops, and providing resources outside of books, such as audio and visual. A big part of our strategy when thinking through the design ecosystem for ECRL was considering the lack of internal design resources within their team. Because of this, we wanted to simplify the overall brand and rely on a critical set of graphics and simple colors for implementation. We approached the project by creating a system of assets for the ECRL team to use moving forward, knowing they don't often have the budget to purchase new assets for their creative. We also created a strategy and guidelines around stock photography to help them maintain consistency throughout their creative.
